Terms of Service

Last updated: 4 July 2026

1. The service

Passeur provides real-time translation of phone calls and, optionally, AI-assisted outbound calls made on your behalf. The service is operated by David Marques as a sole proprietor (“we”, “us”). By creating an account you agree to these terms.

2. Acceptable use

You agree to use Passeur only for lawful, person-to-person communication. You must not use it for:

  • unsolicited marketing, robocalling, or bulk calling of any kind;
  • harassment, threats, fraud, or impersonation;
  • calling emergency services (Passeur is not suitable for emergency calls);
  • recording or translating calls without informing the other parties, where the law requires their knowledge or consent;
  • any activity that violates telecommunications regulations in your country or the called party’s country;
  • cloning any voice other than your own. The voice-cloning feature (Business plan) may only be used with your own voice; cloning another person’s voice, with or without their knowledge, is grounds for immediate termination.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.

3. Your responsibilities

You are the initiator of every call placed through your account and are responsible for its content and legality, including obtaining any consent required from call participants. You must keep your credentials and API keys secure; activity under your account is your responsibility.

4. Plans, billing, and minutes

The free tier includes 30 minutes of translated calls. Paid plans (Starter, Pro, Business) are billed monthly through Stripe and include the number of minutes and features stated on the pricing page at the time of purchase (feature availability varies by tier). Unused minutes do not roll over. You can cancel any time via the billing portal; your plan remains active until the end of the paid period. Statutory refund rights are unaffected.

5. Translation accuracy

Machine translation is imperfect. Passeur is provided for convenience and general understanding — do not rely on it where a mistranslation could cause harm (legal proceedings, medical instructions, financial commitments). For those, use a certified human interpreter.

6. Availability and liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranty of uninterrupted availability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

7. Data

Our handling of your data, including call audio, transcripts, and recordings, is described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. Questions: hello@passeur.app.
