Who we are
Passeur (“we”, “us”) is a real-time phone translation service operated by David Marques as a sole proprietor. Contact: hello@passeur.app.
What we collect
- Account data — email address, name (optional), hashed authentication credentials.
- Phone numbers — your own verified number and the numbers you choose to call.
- Call content — live call audio, transcripts (original and translated), recordings, and call summaries.
- Usage & billing data — call durations, minutes used, subscription status. Payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe; we never see them.
How call audio is processed
Translating a call in real time requires streaming its audio to specialised service providers. Depending on the features you use, call audio and text are processed by categories of sub-processors including:
- a telecommunications provider (call routing and connectivity)
- a speech-recognition provider (converting speech to text)
- a machine-translation provider (translating text between languages)
- a speech-synthesis provider (converting translated text back to speech)
- an autonomous-calling provider (agent calls, when you use that feature)
- an email-delivery provider (call-summary emails, on plans that include them)
Each sub-processor receives only what it needs to perform its function. We do not sell or share your data with anyone else, and we do not use your calls to train AI models. A current list of the specific sub-processors we use is available on request by emailing hello@passeur.app.
Recording and consent
Calls are only possible after you explicitly enable the recording consent setting in your dashboard. You are responsible for informing all parties on a call that it is being processed and recorded for translation, as required by the laws that apply to you and to the person you are calling.
Voice cloning (Business plan)
On the Business plan you may record a short voice sample to create a synthetic copy of your own voice, used solely to speak your call translations. The sample and resulting voice profile are biometric-derived data: they are stored with our speech-synthesis provider under our account, used for no other purpose, and permanently deleted when you remove the cloned voice in your dashboard or close your account. You may only clone your own voice. Cloning another person’s voice is prohibited.
Storage and retention
Transcripts, summaries, notes, and call metadata are stored in our database, hosted in the EU, and shown only to the account that made the call. Recordings are stored by the provider that produced them and streamed to you on request. Call history is retained according to your plan — 30 days on Free and Starter, 1 year on Pro, and for the life of the account on Business — after which it is automatically deleted. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.
Your rights
If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the right to access, rectify, export, restrict, object to the processing of, and erase your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@passeur.app. We respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
Cookies
We use only strictly necessary cookies: session authentication. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
